About Us

Darasamuth English Programme, part of the Sister Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, was formed during the academic year 2002/2003.  The English Programme (EP) and Intermediate English Programme (IEP) operate as a small community within the grounds of the wider school.   We currently offer KG2-P6 (EP) and P1-P6 (IEP).

The aim of Darasamuth EP is for children to learn in an exciting, stimulating environment. The native English speaking teachers help in children’s English language acquisition and ensure that they learn by participating in a range of fun and engaging activities.  We seek to give students the tools to think for themselves both inside and outside of the classroom setting, whilst maintaining a holistic, child-centred approach to learning.  Subjects taught by the foreign teachers are English (phonics / grammar / literacy), Maths, Science, Social Studies, History, Health, Sport, Art and other development activities in Home Room.

We also offer 1:1 and small-group learning for students who require additional support and have a school-wide structured reading scheme (Oxford Reading Tree).
Darsamuth EP upholds and instils Thai cultural values to its students.  Children are encouraged to display polite and acceptable behaviour, in school and at home.  Effort, achievement and good examples of citizenship are rewarded through our positive behaviour policy, which includes individual, team and whole-class awards.  Foreign teachers are ‘home-room’ teachers, which nurtures a good pastoral relationship with the students.
